No Thanks

Congressman Sam Albert: "We knew that we had to monitor our enemies. We've also come to realize that we need to monitor the people who are monitoring them."
Carla Dean: "So who's gonna monitor the monitors of the monitors?"
--Enemy of the State

Yesterday the Obama administration wanted to exclude Fox from a White House pool interview with pay czar Ken Feinberg. The four other networks in the pool said "No thanks" to the White House.

Well done!

As noted the other day, perhaps the press is waking up and deciding they will no longer be manipulated by political machines.

Am very hopeful that this trend will continue.

Matt, I gotta tell you that I think that story was (at best) an exaggeration. You'll note that the Fox News link you posted has been removed. It was not a White House interview, it was a Department of Treasury interview. And all of the networks said that it's standard policy to only move forward with the whole press corps, this had nothing to do with Fox News or the White House, it was simply standard protocol. So while it ultimately resulted in the interview for all networks, I really don't see that this was some great conspiracy or triumph for Fox News.
