Mercy, Justice, and Condemnation

Nasir: Mercy.
Saladin: No, I cannot.
--Kingdom of Heaven

Not a bad way to look at it. We tend to seek mercy for ourselves but seek 'justice' for others. A popular word for justice today is 'condemn' (i.e., "I condemn those acts.")
Only the Creator has standing to condemn. When we fail to heed God's call for mercy by seeking worldly justice and condemnation for others who commit what we perceive as wrongdoings, then how can we credibly stand before Him on Judgment Day and request mercy for ourselves?
